Adapted Bicycle Loan Program
In May 2008, an adapted bicycle loan program was started at the Children’s Treatment Centre with the assistance of a Ronald McDonald House Charities Helping Hands Grant.
The loan program is open to CTC clients (up to 18 years of age) who require the assistance of these specialized bicycles.
The bicycles are for loan from June through to August. There is a program fee of $50 and a deposit of $100 required to loan a bicycle. The deposit is returned to family upon the return of the loaned bicycle in good condition. The program fee covers the cost of maintenance and delivery.
Bicycles are loaned out on a first come, first serve basis which is dependent upon availability. The bicycles are sized to the child’s inseam; this information is required to assign the appropriate bicycle.
