Speech Therapy

The speech and language program provides information, assessments and a range of treatment services for children from birth to beginning grade one at the centre and in the community. Therapists work closely with families, child care, Ontario Early Years Centres and JK/SK teachers to provide education and suggestions for helping children develop speech and language skills and plan for the transition to school based services.

Children will learn a variety of communication skills such as making sounds correctly, developing their vocabulary, understanding questions and putting words into sentences. This may also involve sign language, auditory verbal therapy and picture boards depending on need.

School aged children 6 to 19 years of age are eligible to access the Augementative and Alternative Communication consultation sessions and feeding assessments.
